Unlike on the Korean mainland, the dolmens of Jeju Island are megalithic remains built not in the Bronze Age but during the Tamna period, and are classified into northern-type, southern-type, and capstone-type (unsupported) dolmens. This dolmen is of the southern type, with its long axis oriented north-west. Beneath the capstone, six small boulders or split stones are set as supporting stones around its edges, doubled on the south-east side, suggesting that the burial chamber lay underground. The capstone measures 242 cm along its long axis, 185 cm along its short axis, and 60 cm in thickness, and the dolmen is presumed to date from the Tamna kingdom period.
