Ilgwa-ri Dolmen stands in the middle of a field on flat land. Plain coarse pottery (mumun pottery) sherds and stone tools have been found around it. The capstone is 205 cm long, 162 cm wide and 35–75 cm thick, oval in shape with a somewhat flat upper surface; its long axis tilts about 5 degrees to the south-west. On the south-west side a large slab-shaped support stone, 72 cm long, 26 cm wide and 15 cm thick, sits at the south-west corner tilted out of its original position, presumably having sunk under the weight of the capstone. It is judged, accordingly, that the south-west side of the capstone was originally built raised up considerably. One support stone was found lying fallen away from beneath the capstone, and on the south-east side a boulder-shaped support stone 25 cm long and 10 cm wide is in place. On the west and north sides, the capstone touches the ground directly with no support stones at all. Owing to the way the capstone is propped up, it is raised about 25 cm on its true-south side. No cup-marks are visible on the upper surface of the capstone, but a groove line can be seen along its western side.
