This is the tomb of Kim Jae-ro (1682–1759), pen name Cheongsa, a civil official of the late Joseon period. He passed the jinsa examination in the 28th year of King Sukjong (1702), and in the 36th year of King Sukjong (1710) passed the munkwa examination held at Chundangdae. He entered government service starting from the post of gyeomseolseo (a junior lecturing official), and went on to hold major posts including Bujehak (second minister of the Office of Special Advisors) and Daesagan (head of the Censorate), then Minister of the Right and Minister of the Left, before rising to Chief State Councillor. While serving as Jichunchugwansa he headed the directorate that compiled the annals and took part in editing the Revised Veritable Records of King Gyeongjong, and while serving as Panjungchubusa he travelled to Qing China and brought back a copy of the Mingshi (History of Ming). His tomb, now on top of a knoll at the entrance to Manuigol in Unyeon-dong, has a burial mound edged with a ring of stones at its base, together with a gravestone, a spirit post, a jangmyeongdeung (a stone lantern set before a tomb) and a pair of stone animals, all enclosed within a surrounding wall. The city museum also holds two portraits of him, painted at the ages of 51 and 36.
