Iseong is located in Songseong-ri, Jeondong-myeon. It has a total circumference of 790 m, a width of 2 m, and a height of 2–5 m. Most of the fortress wall has collapsed, but the southern wall alone retains its original form. According to legend, Yi Do, the founding ancestor of the Jeonui Yi clan, built the fortress and lived here, and it is accordingly called Iseong, "Yi's fortress". Fragments of roof tiles dating to the late Baekje period have been excavated within the fortress, suggesting that, together with Geumiseong Fortress, it was a mountain fortress built during the Baekje period.
