This dolmen group was once distributed around 501 Sangdong, Suseong-gu; today four capstones have been moved and rearranged arbitrarily. According to an excavation survey carried out by the National Daegu Museum in 1998, although the capstones above ground had been shifted, making their original positions hard to determine, some thirty stone-cist and stone-lined burial chambers were confirmed to survive in their original arrangement underground, within a 15 m × 15 m area. The chambers were rectangular in plan, generally about 2 m long, 40 cm wide, with walls about 30 cm high. There were two types: stone cists, built by setting up four walls of stone slabs, and stone-lined chambers, built using river cobbles, or a mixture of river cobbles and slab stones. Floors varied — some entirely paved with gravel or small broken stones, some laid with a few neatly cut slab stones, and others fitted with support stones for the body placed only here and there. The burial chambers, densely clustered within this small area, are notable in that their arrangement and the types of stone used make it possible to infer the relationships between them, and they are said to offer more concrete information on burial methods. Single-stepped-hilt and tanged stone daggers and stone arrowheads were excavated from the chambers, but no pottery grave goods were confirmed; these stone implements share the same types as those found at the Daebong-dong and Icheon-dong dolmens. A notable feature of the chamber forms is that, whereas dolmens had previously all been reported as vertical-pit type, remains found here suggest the possible use of a side-entry burial method derived from the vertical-pit type — not previously reported.
