This mountain fortress was built on the summit of Jeogosan Mountain, 255.1 m above sea level, in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, and is also known as Deokjinsanseong Fortress. The wall follows the mountain's natural terrain around the summit, forming a diamond shape with a circumference of 730 m. It was built of natural stones laid in horizontal courses, their outer faces neatly fitted together while stones of similar size were interlocked on the inner side, with the wall sloping slightly inward as it rises. The fortress runs along the ridge centred on the summit, and where it meets the northern end lies the site of the North Gate. About 210 m from this point is the site of the West Gate, and a little further on is a stone-lined well. The wall then curves east to meet the site of the East Gate, and on the south wall 1.5–2 m survives on the inner face and 5–6 m on the outer face. Roof tiles and pottery fragments believed to date from the Baekje, Unified Silla and Goryeo periods have been excavated here, indicating the periods during which the fortress was in use.
