Sajeongseong Fortress
사정성 · 沙井城

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis mountain fortress stands on a peak 160 metres above sea level, to the west of the entrance to Sajeong Park on Bomunsan Mountain in Jung-gu, Daejeon; stone was piled up encircling the mountaintop. Sajeongseong Fortress appears to have been built to guard the route from Daejeon toward Jinsan, and it links with Heukseokdongsanseong Fortress to the south and Wolpyeongdongsanseong Fortress to the north, also forming a connecting point with the fortresses to the east of Daejeon. The wall is thought to have run for about 350 metres, but it has collapsed entirely, so today only its outline can be traced. The interior slopes gently down to the west, and the remains of a building site survive on the high ground to the southeast.
