The tombs stand on a low hill bordering a lake called Pungho, facing the sea. Their internal structure is that of vertical-pit stone-lined tombs (suhyeolsik seokgwakmyo), in which a stone chamber (seokgwak) was built and the body lowered into it from above. Inside the stone chamber, the tomb is divided into a main chamber holding the body and an auxiliary chamber containing only grave goods. Excavated artefacts include long-necked jars and mounted dishes, among others. Taken together, the structure and artefacts of the Hasi-dong tombs suggest that they were built during the Three Kingdoms period.
