This is the tomb of Bogae Beomse-dong (伏涯 范世東), a civil official of the late Goryeo period and a disciple of Poeun Jeong Mong-ju. He passed the state examination in 1369, the 18th year of King Gongmin of Goryeo, and held posts including Deokryeongbu-yun and Ganuidaebu. He studied Neo-Confucianism in depth and published works such as the Hwahaesajeon and the Dongbangyeonwollok. Opposed to the founding of the Joseon dynasty, he withdrew into seclusion in his hometown of Naju — present-day Bongman-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju — and although King Taejong of Joseon repeatedly urged him to take office, he steadfastly declined. After his death he was enfeoffed as Marquis Hudeok (厚德君) and given the posthumous title Munchung (文忠). Within the tomb precinct stand a memorial stone and stone civil-official figures (munin-seok) dating from the early Joseon period. The memorial stone, 1.65m tall, is carved from marble and set on a square granite pedestal. The two civil-official figures, standing face to face at some distance apart, are 210cm tall; they wear angular official caps and have clearly carved eyes, nose and mouth, with both hands held together at the chest holding a ceremonial tablet (hol).
