Jinae-ri Dolmen is a go-board-type dolmen, in which the capstone rests on low support stones close to the ground, located along a small road linking Songdae-ri in Eonyang to Silli village in Jinae-ri, Sangbuk. The surviving capstone measures about 290cm in length, 280cm in width, and 170cm in thickness; four stones appear to serve as supports, and the capstone's cross-section is triangular. On top of the capstone are round, hollow, egg-shaped holes ground out with a small stone; such holes are called seonghyeol (cupmarks). Seonghyeol are sometimes interpreted as symbols of the female genitalia, signifying fertility and abundant childbirth, and are also seen by some as symbols of the sun. A widespread tale holds that women unable to bear children would rub a small stone vigorously into a seonghyeol, and that if the stone stuck to the rock, they would go on to bear a son. This dolmen is regarded as important material for studying the society, politics and culture of the Sangbuk region during the Bronze Age.
