This is the tomb of General Yi Deok-nam (李德南, ?–1592), a righteous-army (uibyeong) leader during the Japanese invasions of 1592–1598. When the war broke out, Yi Deok-nam raised a righteous army in his hometown of Anseong together with his maternal uncle Hong Ja-su, and repeatedly repelled the Japanese forces advancing northward. He went on to establish military camps at Yongin, Juksan and Yangji, and built an earthen fortification at Seounsanseong, joining forces with righteous armies from the Gyeonggi and Chungcheong regions to fight the Japanese before dying in battle. In 1718, the 44th year of King Sukjong, a jeongmun (旌門, a red gate erected before the house of a loyal subject, filial son or virtuous woman to honour their conduct) was erected at the general's birthplace, about 1 km from the tomb, and he was posthumously granted the office of Deputy Minister of War. The tomb takes the form of a ssangbun (雙墳, twin burial mounds), with the general buried alongside his wife. Originally the site had no stone furnishings apart from a myopyo (墓表, a tombstone inscribed with the name of the deceased), but in 1975 new stone furnishings — a tombstone, an offering table, an incense-burner stone, a stone lantern, stone military-official figures and mangju stone pillars — were added. The old tombstone was moved to stand before the jeongmun at the entrance to the burial ground. The old tombstone is of the okgaebangbu type (屋蓋方趺形, with a roof-shaped capstone on a square base stone), small and unadorned in form. The ridge and hip ridges of the capstone project with noticeable thickness, while the base stone is unusually small, giving the structure a somewhat unstable appearance. The inscription was composed by Yun Bong-gu and written by Hong Bong-jo, reflecting the style of its era, the 18th century.
