Dolmens (jiseongmyo) are the representative tombs of the Bronze Age, also called goindol, and are known mainly as the burial places of a ruling class who held economic wealth or political power. Dolmens in Korea are divided into the table type, in which four support stones are set up to form a stone chamber topped with a huge flat capstone, and the baduk-board (go-board) type, in which a stone chamber is built underground with a capstone set on small support stones. The dolmens distributed in Guhang-myeon and Eunha-myeon, Hongseong-gun, are all of the table type, numbering four in total. The dolmen in Taebong-ri, Guhang-myeon, has lost one of its four support stones, while the other three have collapsed slightly but remain in relatively good condition. The capstone resting on top measures 3.8 m in length and 3 m in width. About 7–8 m to the south of this dolmen there was once another large, broad rock, which was broken up and removed some ten years ago; a stone axe is said to have been unearthed at the time. In addition, there is one dolmen in Geumguk-ri, Guhang-myeon, and two dolmens in Haksan-ri, Eunha-myeon.
