The Manhwa-ri dolmen consists of a single stone and stands beside the village hall of Bijo Village, Manhwa-ri, Dudong-myeon. The capstone, made of granite, lies at an angle and is roughly rectangular, measuring about 260 cm long, 185 cm wide and 120 cm thick. Beneath the capstone, supporting stones slightly larger than a human head have been identified, suggesting that this is a baduk-board type dolmen, a southern-style dolmen resting on low support stones. No traces such as cup-marks were found on the upper surface of the capstone, and local residents report that a single stone axe was unearthed near the dolmen. Together with the Eunpyeon-ri dolmen cluster, a Monument of Ulsan Metropolitan City, the Manhwa-ri dolmen provides important material for studying the politics, society and culture of the Dudong region during the Bronze Age.
