The Sangan-dong Dolmen is a single go-board-style dolmen, standing in a cultivated field in Sindap Village, Sangan-dong. Its capstone is granite, set flat on the ground, measuring about 210 cm in length, 170 cm in width and 100 cm in thickness. On the upper edges of the capstone are more than ten cup-shaped hollows, known as seonghyeol, ground into the stone with a small stone; they are thought to symbolise fertility and abundance, or to represent the sun. Supporting stones can be seen on both sides beneath the capstone, but since no academic survey has been carried out, the internal structure is not known in detail. The area around the dolmen consists of hill-like ridges, raising the possibility that related remains are distributed nearby. The Sangan-dong Dolmen is a rare example in the Buk-gu area, and provides important material for studying the politics, society and culture of the Sangan-dong area during the Bronze Age.
