Ihyeondongsanseong Fortress
이현동산성 · 梨峴洞山城

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krLocated about 1.3 km north of Gyejoksanseong Fortress, this mountain fortress was built around two peaks aligned north–south, forming a saddle-shaped plan. The fortress has a circumference of 300 m and is a temoe-sik (hilltop-encircling) stone fortress, built by banking earth against the inner face while facing the outer face with stone, though most of the wall has collapsed. A section of the south wall survives to a height of 1.2 m; it was built of schist stones similar to those used at Gyejoksanseong, each course set slightly back from the one below, though the construction method is crude. Where the north wall crosses the ridge, the slope is gentle, so the stone rampart was built especially high there. Inside the fortress there is a pit measuring 5 by 6 m and about 80 cm deep on the southern peak, and one measuring 4 by 5 m and about 80 cm deep on the northern peak. These are thought to have been storage facilities or beacon-fire installations.
