Geomdan-ri Dolmen Group

The Geomdan-ri Dolmen Group comprises three dolmens clustered beside the road linking the seat of Ungchon-myeon to Goyeon-ri; the capstones are granite, lying at an angle on the ridges between rice paddies. The largest of the three measures about 300cm long, 250cm wide and 50cm thick. In their present state the exact structural features cannot be determined, but from their external form they belong to the capstone type (gaeseok-sik) of dolmen. Together with the Ulju Geomdan-ri Site, Historic Site No. 332, this dolmen group is important material for studying the politics, society and culture of the Geomdan-ri area during the Bronze Age.
