Buyong-ri Ancient Tomb, Yeongdong
영동 부용리 고분 · 永同 芙蓉里 古墳

The tomb lies amid a sunlit field, enclosed by mountains to the west and facing east. Its above-ground mound has been lost, but the internal structure remains well preserved underground. It is a stone chamber tomb (seoksilmyo) of L-shaped plan, in which a passage (yeondo, or neoldgil) leading into the stone chamber (seoksil, or dolbang) is attached to the eastern wall of a nearly rectangular burial chamber (hyeonsil, or neolbang) elongated north–south. No burial goods were found, so the exact date of construction cannot be established, but on the basis of its structural style the tomb is presumed to be a Silla tomb of the late Three Kingdoms period.
