This is a Baekje-period temple site whose original name and history have not been recorded; it is called Imgangsa after Ingaeng, the name of the local village. Although it is now a small village, it was important enough to have had a postal station here as late as the Joseon period. The temple site is divided into an upper and a lower area, and the remains of a building measuring five bays across the front and four bays on the side were also excavated. The excavated artefacts include roof-end tiles decorated with lotus patterns, fragments of chimi (owl-tail roof ornaments), fragments of clay Buddhist statues, and finial ornaments from a pagoda. Kiln sites where Baekje roof tiles were fired, as well as a kiln site for Joseon-period buncheong ware, were also confirmed in the vicinity.
