Gongju Jumisa Temple Site
공주주미사지 · 公州舟尾寺址

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe temple stood on a gently sloping basin partway up Jumisan Mountain. Remains found in the area include the base stone of a stone lantern, a relic cavity (sarigong) cut into the natural bedrock, pagoda members, natural cornerstones, and a stone cave. The cave is a natural cavern with no trace of artificial work, small enough to seat only four or five people. Together with the Seohyeolsa and Namhyeolsa temple sites in Gongju, Jumisa was a cave temple, and the excavated relics suggest it dates to the Unified Silla period. The temple's name also appears in the Sinjeung dongguk yeoji seungnam, indicating that Jumisa still existed as late as the 16th century.
