Yeongjin-ri Tumuli
영진리고분군 · 領津里古墳群

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThese are tombs situated on a long ridge covered in pine forest that stretches east from the Yeongok-myeon township office, facing the East Sea. In the past there appear to have been numerous tombs here, but only a few can now be identified. As no formal academic survey has yet been conducted, their precise character and structure have not been clearly established. However, two looted tombs have an internal form identified as stone-chamber tombs, with interior dimensions of approximately 270 cm in length, 235 cm in width and 150 cm in height. They are horizontal-entry stone-chamber tombs, with three sides built of natural stone apart from the entrance, though the entrance passage has been destroyed and can no longer be found. Stemmed cups (gobae) and long-necked jars (janggyeongho) recovered from the surrounding area indicate that these tombs date to the Unified Silla period.
