This prehistoric site is distributed over the hill behind Yuha village; the Yuha shell midden, formed on the south-eastern end of the hill behind part of Hason hamlet, is a shell mound created when people of the early Iron Age — roughly the turn of the era in Korean history — ate shellfish and discarded the shells. As no formal excavation has been carried out, the precise character of the site is not known, but it is clear that it extends over a wide area, and judging from the shells scattered on the surface, oyster shells are thought to make up the greater part of the midden. It is presumed to have been formed at roughly the same time as other shell-midden sites distributed across the Gimhae area.
