This is the tomb of General Yu Hyeong (pen name Seokdam, 1566–1615), a military official of the mid-Joseon period. He took command in place of Yi Sun-sin, who died in the Battle of Noryang, and was subsequently appointed Commander of Busanjin. He went on to hold various posts, and in 1602, the thirty-fifth year of King Seonjo, rose to the office overseeing the naval forces of the three provinces of Chungcheong, Jeolla and Gyeongsang. The burial ground takes the form of a single round mound. To the right of the front of the mound stands a newly erected grave marker, and before the mound, in order, are a spirit-repose stone, an offering table and an incense-burner stone, all installed in modern times. Below these stand a pair of civil-official stone statues in the yanggwan-jobok form — wearing the yanggwan cap and court robes of a civil official — carved in the flattened style typical of the late 17th century. At the entrance to the burial ground stands a sindobi, a memorial stele erected beside a road near the tomb of a king or high official to commemorate their lifetime achievements; it follows the common form of a roof-shaped capstone on a square base, but is large and imposing in scale. This sindobi was re-erected in 1874, the eleventh year of Emperor Gojong, its original epitaph composed by Yi Jeong-gu and recopied by Jeong Hak-gyo. Below the burial ground stands a modern gravestone newly erected in 1997.
