This is the tomb of General Yi Bang-sil (1298–1362), a late Goryeo military official who won great merit repelling the Red Turban rebels. In recognition of his service attending King Chungmok during the king's stay in Yuan China, he was appointed Jungnangjang, a military office, when the king took the throne. When more than 40,000 Red Turban rebels invaded in 1359, the eighth year of King Gongmin, he won great merit fighting alongside government troops at Cheolju, Cheolhwa, Hamjong and other places, and was made Vice Councilor of the Chumirwon, responsible for royal orders and military affairs. When more than 200,000 Red Turban rebels invaded again in 1361, the tenth year of King Gongmin, and reached the capital, Gaegyeong, he joined forces with generals such as Jeong Se-un and Choe Yeong to drive the enemy out completely and recover the capital. However, in 1362, the eleventh year of King Gongmin, he was murdered through the scheming of the treacherous official Kim Yong, who was jealous of his achievements. The tomb takes the form of a single round mound in which he is buried together with his two wives. Nothing of the original Goryeo-period tomb survives, and the burial ground was restored to its present appearance in 1978. To the right at the front of the mound stands a newly made grave marker, and a kerbstone has been set around the base of the mound. In front stand a spirit-repose stone, an offering table and an incense-burner stone in order, and at the lower level is a pair of stone military-official figures, all newly made in 1978. This tomb is valuable as the burial site of a historical figure of the Goryeo period located in Gyeonggi Province.
