Ha Gyeong-bok Tomb, Jinju
진주 하경복 묘 · 襄靖公河敬複墓

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is the tomb of General Ha Gyeong-bok (1377–1438), posthumously titled Yangjeonggong, a military official active at the end of Goryeo and the start of Joseon. After passing the military examination in 1402, the second year of King Taejong, he held numerous official posts, and in particular spent fifteen years stationed on the northern frontier, where he pacified the northern tribes and worked to secure the border region. Generous in character and an excellent archer, he made great contributions to strengthening military preparedness, helping to consolidate the foundations of the state. The area around the mound is banked up with earth in a half-moon shape, and a long kerbstone runs around the base of the mound. It is a square-form tomb that well preserves the characteristics of early Joseon-period tombs.
