Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krKim An-jeong, the seventh-generation descendant of the Goryeo civil official Kim Mun-jeok, served as Boikdaebu and Jwayun of the Samsa (Three Bureaus), and is honoured as the founding ancestor of the Gimpo branch of the Pungsan Kim clan. His eldest son, Ja-ryang, held a succession of senior posts, including minister in the Five Boards and Daejehak (Chief Academician) of the Hongmungwan, while his second son, Ja-sun, served as Gyegongnang, Jikjang of the Gungisi (Weapons Bureau), and Tonghundaebu of the Tongnyewon (Office of Ceremonies). This tombstone was erected in 1634 by descendants of the seventh and eighth generations. As the original inscription had worn away through exposure to wind and rain, it is said to have been buried within the tomb precinct in 1786, when the present tombstone was set up in its place. In December 2003, the earlier tombstone that had been erected when the tomb was first built was excavated near the tomb site, and a protective shelter has since been built to preserve it.
