Cloud and Crane Ri Tumuli
운학리고분군 · 雲鶴里古墳群

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThese are three tombs situated on the hillside west of Cheontaesan Mountain. The mounds have suffered severe erosion and now form circular mounds roughly 2 m high and 14 m across; they are thought to have originally stood about 4 m high. The tombs are vertical stone-chamber tombs with tall earthen mounds, a form distinctive to this region and dating to the early Baekje period. Investigation of the tombs, which had been damaged by looting, found that some of the excavated artefacts were of the same type as those unearthed from the subsidiary mounds surrounding the imperial tombs of Japan. The Unhak-ri tombs are important material for understanding the spread of Baekje culture to Japan and the relationship between the two countries.
