This is the tomb of Ugye Seong Hon (1535–1598), a leading Neo-Confucian scholar of the mid-Joseon period. He studied under Hyuam Baek In-geol and became a lifelong friend of Yulgok Yi I. The burial ground takes the form of a single mound holding Seong Hon together with his wife. The tomb largely retains its original form, though its stone furnishings are a mixture of old and newer pieces. To the front right of the mound stands a myopyo, a stele inscribed with the name of the deceased, erected in 1649, the twenty-seventh year of King Injo, with the epitaph composed by Kim Jip and the calligraphy done by his grandson through a daughter, Yun Sun-geo. Though of the common okgaebangbu form, a stele with a roof-shaped capstone and a square base stone, it has a stable and dignified appearance. At the base of the mound stands a pair of dongjaseogin, stone figures of young attendants, their hair tied in the ssanggye style with two topknots rising upward, each holding an object in both hands. A similar pair of dongjaseogin was set up at the tomb of his father, Cheongsong Seong Su-chim, suggesting a shared burial custom of the Changnyeong Seong clan. At the entrance to the burial ground stands Seong Hon's sindobi, a stele erected by the roadside near a tomb to commemorate the lifetime achievements of a king or high official, its text composed by Kim Sang-heon and its calligraphy by Kim Jip, with the title inscribed in seal script by Kim Sang-yong. This burial ground is significant for retaining the original form of its tomb structure and its varied stone furnishings, and the placement of the dongjaseogin in particular can be linked to a regional and family tradition, giving it considerable scholarly value.
