A yoji is a kiln site where porcelain, roof tiles or earthenware vessels were once fired. The Oksan-ri earthenware kiln site lies on the eastern hillside above Oksan Pond, in the valley to the left of Oksan-ri. The kilns appear to have run east and west along the slope. The site is now planted with chestnut trees, and large quantities of earthenware sherds have been exposed around the pits dug when the trees were planted. The excavated pottery includes pedestalled dishes (gobae), long-necked jars (janggyeongho), vessel stands (gidae), large jars with handles, and lids for pedestalled dishes. This suggests a large-scale kiln site, thought to date from the mid-fifth century, during the Three Kingdoms period. As a Three Kingdoms-period earthenware kiln site found outside Gyeongju, the Oksan-ri kiln site is a very rare example, and both its scale and state of preservation are excellent. In particular, the earthenware itself provides important academic material for comparison with pottery excavated from nearby tombs.
