This is the site of Roh Su-sin's place of exile. Roh Su-sin (1515–1590), a renowned official of the mid-Joseon period, was banished here, and the building later erected on the site was named Water-Moon Pavilion. Roh Su-sin passed the state examination in 1543, the 38th year of King Jungjong, and studied scholarship together with Yi Hwang, but was driven from office amid factional strife over power and lived in exile in Suncheon, Goesan, and elsewhere. After King Seonjo's accession he returned to office and rose to the position of chief state councillor. The building has a front of three bays and a side of two bays, and its roof is a hipped-and-gabled (paljak) roof, shaped like the character for "eight" (八) when viewed from the side.
