This is the grave of Nam Ji, posthumous title Chunggan-gong, a civil official of the early Joseon dynasty. He was a grandson of Nam Jae, a meritorious subject of the dynasty's founding, and entered government service at the age of 17; he rose to Right State Councillor in the 31st year of King Sejong (1449) and was elevated to Left State Councillor in the 1st year of King Munjong (1451). He escaped disaster through illness at the time of the Gyeyu Coup, and in the 20th year of King Seongjong (1489) received his posthumous title following a memorial submitted by his grandson Nam Gi. The burial mound is trapezoidal in shape; in front of it stand an offering table and an incense-burner stone, flanked on either side by a pair of civil-official stone statues. Below the grave stands a sindobi (spirit-path stele: a stele erected beside the tomb of a king or high official to commemorate his lifetime achievements), whose text was composed by his eighth-generation descendant, Nam Gu-man.
