금산 백령성 · 錦山 栢嶺城

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krBaengnyeongseong Fortress stands on the summit east of Seongchisan Mountain (759m above sea level), in Geoncheon-ri and Yeokpyeong-ri, Nami-myeon, at a strategically important point on the route connecting Jewon-myeon and Chubu-myeon in Geumsan County to Yeongdong and Okcheon in North Chungcheong Province. It is a stone fortress built in the teomoe-sik style, encircling the summit of the mountain, with a circumference of 207m. Most of the east, south and north walls have collapsed, but the west wall remains relatively well preserved; the walls are 4m wide. Relics recovered include a large quantity of roof tile fragments — among them various Baekje-period inscribed tiles — and earthenware fragments.
