These are late Baekje-period tombs located midway up the southern slope of Danduri-jae, the hill behind Yeosul Village. Excavation revealed one front-opening stone-chamber tomb and twelve tunnel-entrance stone-chamber tombs fitted with corridor entrances; among the latter, some have long walls built inward, while others use flat stones with their corners rounded off. Traces of a lime-like material used to fill the gaps in the chamber walls and ceilings and in the corridors have survived. Most of the burial goods had already been looted, so relatively few remain; those recovered include short-necked jars, pedestalled dishes, deep-bowl-shaped earthenware, four-eared jars, gold earrings, and a silver flower-shaped cap ornament. This ornament in particular was worn by Baekje officials of the sixth rank or above, indicating the standing of the tomb's occupant. Comparison with tombs in the Buyeo region suggests a date in the seventh century for these tombs. Since their investigation by the Gongju National University Museum in 1986, the Yukgok-ri tombs in Nonsan have been managed as an important area of clustered burials.
