This memorial altar was built in the 8th year of Emperor Gojong (1871), by royal order, to honour the merit of Song Bin, Yi Dae-hyeong, Kim Deuk-gi and Yu Sik, who raised righteous armies to defend the area and died in battle during the Japanese invasion that began in April of the 25th year of King Seonjo of Joseon (1592). It originally stood at 873 Dongsang-dong, but under Gimhae's urban planning it was relocated to 227-6 and 228 Dongsang-dong, and later expanded and moved again to the area around 161 Dongsang-dong. A memorial rite is held there every year on the 20th day of the fourth lunar month.
