Provincial Monument

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krTraces remain of an earthen wall, about 200m long, built around the summit of Homisan Mountain in Jukjeon-ri, Jeonggok-myeon, Uiryeong-gun. The exact date of construction is unknown, but it is presumed to have been built around the same time as Byeokhwasanseong Fortress on Byeokhwasan Mountain in Ha-ri, Uiryeong-eup. This fortress is one of the battle sites of General Gwak Jae-u (1552–1617), known by his pen name Mangudang, a righteous army leader during the Japanese invasions of 1592–98. Homisan Mountain takes its name from the shape of the mountain, which resembles a tiger's tail.
