General Bak Jin (1560–1597), whose clan seat was Miryang, achieved great feats during the Japanese invasions of 1592–98. When the war broke out, he engaged the enemy at Jagwon but was defeated and surrounded, so he burned Miryangbu and withdrew. He was then appointed Left Gyeongsang Provincial Army Commander and recaptured Gyeongju fortress. In 1593, as a special commander for suppressing the enemy, he won further engagements in the Miryang and Ulsan areas. In February 1594 he became Right Gyeongsang Provincial Army Commander; in October the same year, Magistrate of Suncheon; he then served as Jeolla Provincial Army Commander, and in November 1596 as Hwanghae Provincial Army Commander while concurrently serving as Magistrate of Hwangju. He later rose to the rank of Vice Minister. A square stele base stands in front of the burial mound, with a new stele erected in 1987 beside it. The stone figures and incense-burner stone were also installed in modern times; only a pair of civil-official stone statues date from the Joseon dynasty.
