This is the family burial ground of Yi Paeng-su, Prince Taean, a grandson of King Seongjong, and his great-grandson Yi Gyeong-in. Excavation showed that all the graves were hoegyeokmyo — tombs in which the coffin is placed in the ground and the surrounding space packed and compacted with lime — with a double structure of an outer and an inner coffin. Ten white porcelain mortuary miniatures (myeonggi, small vessels and figures buried to serve the deceased in the afterlife) were excavated from Yi Paeng-su's mound, while seven underglaze blue-and-white porcelain epitaph tablets and two white porcelain mortuary miniatures were found in his wife's mound. Yi Paeng-su's burial ground takes the form of ssangbun, twin mounds, in which he is buried together with his wife of the Kim clan of Ansan. At the centre of each mound stands a myopyo, a stone marker inscribed with the name of the deceased, of the wonsubangbuhyeong type, with a round headstone and a square base, erected in 1618, the thirtieth year of King Seonjo. Below stands a pair of munseogin, stone figures of civil officials, in the common yanggwanjobokhyeong form, wearing an official's cap and court robes. Yi Gyeong-in's burial ground takes the form of danbun, a single mound, shared with his wife of the Hong clan of Namyang. The grave marker, also of the wonsubangbuhyeong type, was erected in 1696, the twenty-second year of King Sukjong. Below stand a pair of mangjuseok, stone pillars, and a pair of civil officials' stone figures. The civil officials' figures are of the yanggwanjobokhyeong form; their faces are finely rendered but their bodies are flatly treated, typical of the sculptural style of the seventeenth century. This burial ground is notable as the tomb of members of the royal clan, and it has great academic value as a site through which to examine the excellence of Gyeonggi's well-developed culture of family burial.
