Seoksu-dong Stone Chamber Tomb
석수동석실분 · 石水洞石室墳

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe Seoksu-dong stone chamber tomb was built of granite on the summit of a hill extending to the right from the peak of Samseongsan Mountain. It stands at a high elevation of about 300m above sea level, and the tomb is oriented north–south, facing the mountain's summit. Inside the chamber, the east, west and north walls were built by fitting together roughly cut granite stones, while the south wall was constructed from a single large stone slab. The east and west walls are built up in five to six courses, and the north wall in six to seven courses of stones of varying size. As the tomb was looted before any excavation took place, its precise structure and date remain unknown. However, since Hoamsanseong Fortress, built by Silla, stands nearby, and the Doksan-dong site — a large Silla settlement — lies on the alluvial plain of the Anyangcheon Stream visible from Samseongsan Mountain, the tomb is presumed to be associated with Silla.
