On two rocks behind Hwaamsa Temple are carved the phrases "Sigyeong" (詩境, "a realm of poetry") and "Cheonchukgoseonsaengtaek" (天竺古先生宅, "the house of the old master of India"), both written by the great scholar-calligrapher Kim Jeong-hui, known by his pen name Chusa. About 500 metres from this spot is an inscription reading "Sobongnae" (小蓬來, "Little Bongnae," after the mythical mountain Bongnae), beneath which a small inscription reads "Chusaje" (秋史題, "written by Chusa").
