Yi Yeon-gyeong Burial Ground, Goesan
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

The burial ground is centred on Yi Yeon-gyeong, a Neo-Confucian scholar who represented the sarim, the Confucian literati faction, of the mid-Joseon period, and also holds the graves of his grandfather Yi Se-jwa, his father Yi Su-won, his son Yi Ho-yak and his grandson Yi Gwang-ak, well illustrating the tradition of laying out a burial ground across five generations. The various stone furnishings retain their original forms from the time, making this a valuable site for observing and studying in one place the changing carving style of munincheok, stone figures of civil officials, from the late 15th century to the early 17th century of the Joseon dynasty.
