음성 어재연․어재순 묘소 · 陰城 魚在淵․魚在淳 墓所

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is the grave of the brothers General Eo Jae-yeon and Eo Jae-sun, who died in the service of their country fighting American forces at the Battle of Gwangseongjin during the Sinmiyangyo (the 1871 American expedition to Korea), in 1871, the 8th year of Emperor Gojong's reign. On the summit of the ridge of Mount Eobyeongsan in Seongbon-ri, Daeso-myeon, two round burial mounds facing southwest stand side by side. A gravestone is set up on either side of the graves, and a stone offering table stands in front of each mound, with two stone generals (guardian statues) and a stone lantern placed before them. Below the graves stands Ssangchungjae, the shrine hall for ancestral rites, a timber-framed, tile-roofed building with a gable roof, three bays wide and one and a half bays deep. At the southwestern foot of the hill below Ssangchungjae stand two memorial steles (sindobi), one each for Eo Jae-yeon and Eo Jae-sun.
