Adams Memorial Hall at Samil Middle School is a school building constructed in 1923. It is called Adams Memorial Hall (North Adams Memorial) because it was built with assistance from the North Adams Church in Massachusetts, USA. It was built through the arrangement of the Reverend William Noble, with donations from the North Adams Church in the United States together with contributions from citizens of Suwon and congregants of Jongno Church. Construction was overseen by Im Myeon-su, the school's founder and an independence activist who had been released from Pyeongyang Prison on medical parole. It is a brick building of two storeys above ground and one below. Unusually for the time, its main entrance is set off-centre to the right, a result reflecting the arrangement of the interior spaces. The floors were fitted with timber flooring, and the roof was built with a wooden truss structure; dormer windows were installed for ventilation, and natural slate was used as the roofing material. Adams Memorial Hall is a symbolic site of the independence movement in Suwon, where Guguk Mindan, a secret society founded by Suwon independence activists Park Seon-tae and Yi Deuk-su, held regular meetings every Friday to carry out their independence activities.
