Jarabong Tomb is located on a valley plain formed between Taesanbong Peak to the west and a hill to the east. Rising prominently amid the paddy fields of this valley plain so that it looks like an island, it is known as Jarabong, Jaramoe or Josan. The tomb takes the form of a janggobun, a drum-shaped tomb with a round section and a square section: the round section lies to the north, while a narrow, elongated square section projects to the south. The square section was built relatively lower and smaller than the round section, and because it is narrow and does not widen at the front, it lacks the waisted profile seen in other drum-shaped tombs. At the centre of the round section a pit-type stone-chamber tomb was found, its walls built up with broken stones and boulders. The ceiling was covered with five flat slabs, and the floor was paved with small stones. The interior had already been looted, but earrings, beads and an iron axe remained, along with animal bones thought to be horse bones.
