Borisa Temple Site, Uiryeong
의령 보리사지 · 宜寧 普堤寺址
Provincial Monument

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe Borisa Temple Site is a former temple whose origins and scale are not recorded; it is only vaguely said to date from the Silla period. Judging from the scale of the surviving retaining walls and from a standing gilt-bronze Buddha excavated here and now held by the Dong-a University Museum, however, the temple is presumed to have been fairly large. The site is today under cultivation as paddy and dry fields or used as a bamboo grove. Some of the retaining stones used for the temple buildings' foundation walls and some of the plinth stones that supported building pillars still remain.
