Dangdong is a village in the south-western part of Jukgok-myeon. It has its back to Yebong Peak, and to the south a plain opens out, formed where the Boseonggang River makes a wide meander. Dongnisanseong Fortress stands on the ridge of Yebong and the hills to its south, at the point where Dangdong-ri in Jukgok and Neungpa-ri in Seokgok meet. Built of stone, most of its walls have collapsed, and roof-tile fragments are scattered throughout the interior. At the centre of the southern side are the site of a well and of a lookout post, and the wall at the north-western corner has been reused as the hoseok, the stone border of a private grave. The wall survives better on the north side than on the south; its best-preserved section is 5m wide and 10m high, and the whole circuit measures around 500m.
