The residence of Han Gyu-seol (1848–1930), who served as Hanseong Panyun, the governor of Hanseong (old Seoul), in the late Joseon period. Originally standing in Janggyo-dong, it was purchased by Kookmin University and relocated to its campus; it is presumed to have been built before 1890. In rebuilding it to its original form, the servants' quarters flanking the tall raised gate, the servants' quarters by the middle gate, and the dividing wall were restored. The men's quarters, women's quarters, detached quarters, shrine and storehouse quarters are arranged across a spacious site, and the complex is now used as a student residence hall. The women's quarters is L-shaped, six bays wide across the front and two bays deep. The men's quarters is also L-shaped, four bays wide and two and a half bays deep, with a hip-and-gable roof whose side takes the shape of the character for 'eight'. The detached quarters, likewise L-shaped, is connected to the storehouse quarters, and the shrine was built somewhat smaller than is usual.
