This is one of five bangsatap standing to the south of Gorwan Village. A bangsatap is a stone tower raised collectively by a village at a spot where an ill omen had appeared in some direction, or where the land's energy was felt to be weak; it is an object of folk faith meant to block the passage of impurity and evil and keep the village at peace. Because the direction from which evil energy was thought to threaten Gorwan Village is the south, the villagers built four towers side by side from east to west just south of the checkpoint, and a fifth a little further to the south. On top of this tower stands a long, slender stone facing north.
