This residential house stands deep within Dorae Village, a settlement of the Pungsan Hong clan. It is said to have originally comprised a main house (anchae), a men's quarters (sarangchae) and a servants' quarters (haengnangchae), of which only the main house survives today. Based on a ridge-beam inscription (sangnyangmun) found in the building, it is presumed to have been built in 1918. The main house is a six-kan, I-shaped building, made up of a kitchen room, a kitchen, a main bedroom and a wooden-floored central hall (daecheongmaru). At the front of the central hall is a small room one and a half kan in size, and at the rear is a hamsil-agungi, a furnace used solely for heating without a cooking cauldron. The building is relatively large in scale, and its composition and structure are sound, making it good material for studying the houses of the period.
