This is the bonhyangdang (village tutelary shrine) of Yeongpyeong-dong and Wolpyeong-dong villages, Jeju City, located within an orchard called 'Sindaegimareu' on a hillock south of Jeju Commercial High School. Within the shrine stands a large hackberry tree designated as a protected tree, encircled by a round fence. A low altar has been set against the wall on the left. Paper money offerings (jijeon) and strips of coloured cloth (mulsaek) are hung on the branches behind the altar. Although small in scale, it well preserves the original form of a sacred-tree shrine.
