This house is thought to have been built in the 1900s. It consists of an annex resembling a sarangchae (men's quarters), a main house (anchae) and a servants' quarters (haengnangchae). The anchae stands to the north-east, and the haengnangchae to the north. On the raised wooden floor (numaru) hangs a plaque reading 'Ilgwanjeong'. The anchae is said to be a villa built by Yi Jong-seok, a merchant of the late Joseon period, and the house offers a glimpse of the lifestyle of the great merchants of that time. In particular, the landscaping around the house creates a beautiful scene redolent with Korean charm.
