Located in Dundeok-ri, Osu-myeon, Imsil-gun, the Iungjae Hall Old House is the jongga (head house) of the Chunseongjeong branch of the Hyoryeong Daegun line of the Jeonju Yi clan. It was built around 1552 by Yi Dam-son (1490–?), posthumously styled Chunseongjeong, a great-grandson of Prince Hyoryeong, after he retired to the countryside, and it remains a roughly 460-year-old head house now occupied by the 17th-generation head of the lineage. Dongchon Village as a whole lies on a gently sloping site, and within it the Iungjae Hall Old House, befitting a head house, is set back toward the mountain; seen from the road below the village it appears to be looked up at from below, giving it a striking, dignified presence. It observes the norms of a mid-Joseon head house without being ostentatious, carrying authority without display. The complex consists of a sadang (ancestral shrine), anchae (main house), sarangchae (men's quarters), haengnangchae (servants' quarters) and daemunchae (gate house). The anchae was rebuilt in 1909 with wings added on its east and west sides; to the right of the large room is a dojangbang (storage room) in place of a meoritbang (small side room), with a meoritbang placed to its south. In front of the anchae an inner haengnangchae wraps around it, containing a mill room, an inner toilet, an inner storeroom and a study. To the east of this inner haengnangchae is a straight row of rooms in pairs of two bays each. Facing the daemunchae beyond the middle gate that connects to the anchae is the sarangchae, which was rebuilt in 1912. The daemunchae is a sotdaemun (raised central gate), on which hangs a jeongnyeo (a commemorative plaque honouring filial piety), dated 1870, for "the filial son Yi Mun-ju (1623–1717), posthumously granted the rank of Tongjeong Daebu and the post of Ijo Chamui."
